Everything!! The shower has amazing pressure. There's plenty of room to move around and have luggage open. It was silent! We very rarely heard people talking on the corridor, but not a peep from the rooms. We stayed for 7 days, so there were plenty of occasions to hear noise. Staff was amazing! Very friendly and helpful! Very clean. My partner is quite sensitive to dust and he was fine in the room. Great location. It's 2-3 min walk to the entrance of the Kyoto station. We were doing day trips, so it was amazing to be so close to the hotel. Plenty of life around if you want to go out. Laundry room (separate one for women only). You can buy detergent from the reception. I can't remember how much, but it was stupid cheap. Smoking rooms, if you're a smoker. Not once we felt the smell of smoke in the room, though. Breakfast! We found it a bit pricey initially, but they offer so much (Japanese and Western options) and the food is delicious. It's worth the money for the convenience. We thought the bed was a bit too firm initially, but, actually, we slept very well every night even if we're used to softer. Really good value for money for what it offers. We will return here when coming back to Kyoto! <3

I recently stayed at the ALA Hotel Kyoto, and I was very impressed with the hotel overall. The hotel is located in a very convenient location, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station. This makes it very easy to get around the city, as the JR pass is very convenient for using public transportation. There is also a 7-Eleven just across the street, which is very convenient for picking up snacks and drinks. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, even with the double twin bed. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was well-equipped with everything I needed, including a TV, refrigerator, and plenty of outlets. The bathroom was also very clean and spacious, and it had a nice soaking tub. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful. They were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. For example, one day I asked the front desk staff for help finding a map of the city. They were able to give me a map and even circle the main tourist attractions, which was very helpful. Overall, I had a very positive experience staying at the ALA Hotel Kyoto. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Kyoto.

Best hotel we stayed at on our two weeks in Japan. Very close to Kyoto station as well as bus stops that take you to major attractions. Very clean and soacious rooms. Free amenities and they don’t skimp on the free coffee/tea/cream/sugar (great tasting too, not some bland cheap stuff). Standard Twin Room was perfect for two people. And although we only had two carry-on suitcases, two 40L backpacks and one medium duffel bag, this room could easily fit two more large suitcases and not feel too cramped (four large suitcases would fit but will be cramped imo). Shower and toilet are separated which is very convenient. We didn’t get to try the onsen on the top floor but I took a quick peek at the ladies powder room and it looked very clean. A request to the hotel: please add more washer and dryer or maybe upgrade to those all-in-one washer/dryer so guests won’t have to do multiple trips to the laundry area to unload/load.

I loved the room. It was spacious and very clean (big enough to accomodate two big open suitcases). The lobby staff all spoke English. The baths were also spacious and clean. Every floor has a vending machine which is also awesome. When it was time to leave the staff took care of measuring our luggage and filling out the form to send our luggage to our next hotel. When I lost my credit card and it was found by the police, the staff called my room and let me know then they printed out a map and gave me clear instructions on where to go to get it back. All in all, my stay here was very plesant and me and my spouse intend to stay with them again in the future.

We had forwarded our luggage from Tokyo, but even so, the short walk from the station, 8 mins?, was appreciated as we had an evening arrival. Check in straightforward at the desk. Clean comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast with western options. Free bottled water in rooms but water bottles can also be replenished at breakfast buffet. Possibly a little further from the main action in Gion than we would have liked, but then very handy if much train travel was required. We used Ubers mainly for our very early starts. Uber worked well in Japan. Taxis not expensive really and worked well for our family of 4.
